Bodhi Capital is the premier undergraduate student managed investment fund of Ashoka University founded with the vision of producing superior risk adjusted returns through equity research based on fundamental analysis.
The fund is led by five portfolio managers who work with 27 analysts to make key investment decisions based on bottom up fundamental analysis. It is supervised by AIC, the investments club of Ashoka University that consists of finance enthusiasts who are committed to establishing an investment ethos at Ashoka and regularly meet to discuss stock picks and investment philosophies.
Investment Strategy
The key investment strategy used by the fund includes bottom up fundamental analysis and value investing. We follow a sector-agnostic approach towards identifying listed companies with strong franchises and deepening moats, backed by reputed managements. By undertaking a thorough qualitative and quantitative analysis we seek to determine the financial position of the firm. Further, through our valuation methodology we identify if the companies are available at a discount to their intrinsic value and make our final allocation based on the outcome. We place emphasis on tweaking our strategy from time to time to encourage new opinions and ideas. Our investments are made for the long term.
Membership
Currently, Bodhi Capital has a team of 32 undergraduates, chosen from an extremely accomplished applicant pool via a selective inductions process. At the beginning of the academic year, AIC welcomes undergraduate students from across Ashoka University to apply to our community.
