Activities

We discuss investment philosophies based on fundamental analysis through peer learning groups and weekly meetings. The process involves extensive company and sector research, studying valuation models and preparing stock pitches.

With the presence of Bodhi Capital, membership in our club provides a unique value proposition different from Investment Cells at other colleges; we provide real-world experience and exposure to the financial industry and the stock market through hands-on portfolio management. Hence, our meetings and discussions are unlike those in the real world.

Speaker Sessions: Through a string of sessions that the Ashoka Investments Club organizes over a year, our members get insights from the marquee investors and profound thinkers who have built their lives in the Indian market and whose experience spans decades and wisdom infinite. Their words often find a way to refine the club's investment thesis and keep it dynamic with each passing interaction. These lecture sessions enrich our depth of knowledge and provide a much appreciated hands-on attitude to our students, enabling them to fast-track their learning as they transition into their contributor roles for prominent organizations. See our list of guest speakers here.

Bodhi Stock Exchange: To awaken student interest in the stock market, we organised a Mock Stock (stock market simulation) — Bodhi Stock Exchange on 23rd October 2021. It was a fun-filled, high-intensity trading competition between the contestants on a unique platform, specially curated for beginners. The participants got to invest in different stocks available on the Indian stock market indexes, with 10,00,000 rupees worth of token money, over multiple investment rounds. The winners were awarded with cash prizes worth Rs. 45000/-. Bodhi Stock Exchange was also awarded the Best Inter-University Event of the year by the Office of Student Life for AY2021-22.
